I was super excited when Yodit asked me to shoot her Senior Portraits. Not only is she really sweet, but also she’s a fellow photography lover so the pressure was on for me to take great photos :)

Besides her love of being behind the camera, her all-time favorite things to eat is anything Chinese, In N Out, and pizza; she’s thrilled that the Hunger Games was made into a movie, and she’d love to learn how to ride a horse. The things she’s most looking forward to about graduating are going to college, meeting new people, and learning new things.

Yodit- I can’t wait to see what’s waiting for you in the future. You are a bright and talented woman and the world is your oyster! 

I am super excited to announce I’m now a preferred wedding photographer at the fabulous Sainte Claire in San Jose- woohoo!!

I was really excited to meet Kevan and Keri- both currently live in Pittsburgh so all of our communication has been over Skype and email.  And let me tell you, they are just as lovely in person as they look in the photographs. My heart still smiles as I think about our time together. Kevan, the Director of Baseball Operations with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and Keri, a District Sales Manager with ADP, met in Phoenix through mutual friends. When I asked Keri what attracted her to Kevan she told me,  ”My love is a beautiful person inside and out,” and that’s what made her heart melt. Kevan said Keri’s ability to challenge him and make him a better person is what won him over. After many years of great dates (including one of their favorites: the day they went on a hike on South Mountain in Phoenix and they had to hitch hike home when darkness hit and a mean rattle snake blocked their path back down), Kevan knew she was the girl for him. For the big proposal, he woke Keri up and when she came out of the bedroom, she was blocked by a door with a collage of pictures of the couple through the years.  When she moved the door, Kevan was on bended knee. The rest, as they say, is history.

Keri and Kevan- I had so much fun photographing your Engagement  Session in Berkeley. I can’t wait to see you two again at your wedding in a few months! You both were delightful :)

Once again I find myself thrilled to be sharing a new wedding.  I know I sound like a broken record but I get to work with the best couples in the whole wide world. And couples who always seem to have the most amazing family and friends.

I couldn’t wait to reconnect with Sarah and Chris. I had a a blast working with them during their engagement session so I was excited to see them again for their wedding. Sarah and Chris met and dated during the Christmas season so they decided it was the perfect time of year for their wedding. On a side note, a fun Christmas fact about this couple is that their most memorable date happend as they drove around and fixed Christmas decorations that had been blown over by the wind. Doesn’t that just make your heart melt? Chris and Sarah were married at Saint Christopher Church with the reception located at the Sainte Claire Hotel in San Jose. While all the decorations were beautiful, it was honestly the two of them that made their wedding truly beautiful.  They are both so sweet, thoughtful, and easy going. For their first dance Sarah and Chris glided along to “You’re All I Want for Christmas,” by Frankie Laine. Sarah said they weren’t sold on any popular Christmas songs for the first dance but as soon as they found that song, they fell in love with it right way.  It described their feelings for each other perfectly.

This cute couple met while attending Oregon State University in 2009 and have been love birds ever since. While they have had so many good times together, they both pointed out that they would never forget their first date. Paige recalled how they went out for sushi and talked until the restaurant kicked them out. Isn’t that great?!  After a  few more dates down the road, KJ knew Paige was the girl for him.  So…..he came up with a creative plan to go to Lake Tahoe and propose.

Paige is an avid horse lover so KJ knew he would win big point by incorporating this into their engagement story.  His plan started by renting horses to adventure throughout Tahoe’s beautiful backcountry. Along the way, they came to a beautiful mountain overlook and, much to Paige’s (and the horses’) surprise, KJ was holding the sparkling ring and ready with that all important question.  Paige was thrilled and, to this day, she says “It was perfect!”

Fast forward down the mountain to today:)  For their Engagement Session, we headed to this awesome venue a little ways outside of Sacramento to take Paige and KJ’s photos. It was stellar! There were so many awesome places to shoot- it was a photographer’s dream!  Plus, while some folks have to pay lots of money for wind machines, we were fortunate to have Mother Nature gift us with her presence for free! It was a fun addition for their engagement photos :)
