Just about a week ago, as I was searching the web for fun and fancy crafts, I came across a simple quote about friendship that stuck in mind. “Truly great friends,” noted this individual, “are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.” There was something so straightforward, yet powerful, about this observation of a strong friendship that I had to write it down . While it is unclear who wrote this saying, however, the one thing that is clear is that they must have had Sam and Sharon in mind. For the past eight years, I’ve had the chance to get to know this amazing couple and I couldn’t think of a better way to summarize our friendship than with that quote.
While in Sacramento, I lived a mile away from Sam and Sharon, and I can’t even begin to count all the memories we’ve shared. One of the things I loved most about being such close neighbors was enjoying the simplicities life with them. Whether it was getting together for dinner and a movie every few weeks and ending our night, inevitably, with me falling asleep about 5 minutes after the movie began, to celebrating holidays and life’s big events, to being there for one another during life’s lows, I knew I could always count on Sam and Sharon to do life with me. That’s why I felt so elated when they asked me to capture one of the most special parts of their lives- their pregnancy. To begin our day, we celebrated the big transition-to-come at her baby shower and followed that event up with photo sesh at their beautiful home (a special thanks to Luanne, from LuluLove Events for providing the beautiful flowers at the shower and photoshoot!). Whenever friends and family ask me to photograph some of their most special parts of their life, I always consider it to be a honor… but it was extra honor for me to photograph them.
Sam and Sharon- I am truly grateful to be able to call you two friends and I am THRILLED for the new addition that is about to join your family in a weeks. I look forward to both watching her grow up and watching you become the fantastic parents I know you’ll become!

Erica, you do amazing work, these are treasured keep sakes for them and this little Baby girl, if we knew her name I could call her by that LOL but we will just have to wait. It wont be long.
